INESC ID at Técnico Taguspark Open Day 2023

INESC ID at Técnico Taguspark Open Day 2023

The Técnico – Taguspark Campus will celebrate on November 11th its 23rd anniversary by hosting this year’s edition of “Taguspark Open Day”. Between 10am and 5 pm, Técnico will open its doors and invite the community to visit the Campus Labs, participate in scientific activities and learn more about the Institution research projects through project demos.

INESC ID will be part of the 2023 Open Day by engaging in three different activities:

Scientific experiments and demonstrations in the main hall: with the activity “Human Language Technologies” promoted by INESC ID researcher Luísa Coheur. This demo will explore how large language models, like ChatGPT and GPT-4, can create highly customized dialogues from information provided by a user. This approach has several implications for digital communication, offering the ability to simulate anyone’s personality and speech, opening doors to many applications in virtual assistance, conversational therapy, and more.

Lab Visits: INESC ID Gaips Lab (Social Robots Lab) will open its doors and show/play some games with visitors while explaining the research work developed by the Lab. This activity requires a ticket that can be collected at the entrance of the event. Visits will start at 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 14:00, 15:00, and 16:00.

Lecture: INESC ID researcher Ana Paiva from the GAIPS LAB will give the Lecture “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Society” at at 11am.

Prior registration is required to attend the event.
