André Luís Martins  |  Senior Software Engineer, Hitachi Vantara

Completed my graduate and master’s degree in Information Systems and Computer Engineering at IST (1999-2006), during the course of which I joined INESC-ID (2004-2007). I won a Fulbright Foundation Fellowship (2007) and joined Cornell University, USA, where I obtained PhD in Computational Biology (2007-2014). I then returned to Portugal and joined the private sector. First at SparkLegend (2014-2018) and finally at Hitachi Vantara (2018-present).

 

 

Jaime Jorge |  CEO and Co-founder, Codacy

CEO and Co-founder of Codacy, the leading automated code review service with more than 750 customers and used by 200k developers around the world. He’s been working in the code quality and software engineering tools industry for over 10 years. He holds a MsC in Software Engineering from IST. Previously he was also a researcher in Natural Language in INESC-Id. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, surfing, BJJ, making good coffee and some modest reading and writing.

 

 

Joana Gonçalves  |  Assistant Professor, Pattern Recognition & Bioinformatics, TU Delft

Joana Gonçalves is an Assistant Professor in the Intelligent Systems department of the faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science at the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in The Netherlands. She does research at the intersection of Pattern Recognition and Biomedicine, and is responsible for several courses in the Computer Science education programmes at TU Delft. Prior to her current position, Joana was a Postdoctoral Researcher jointly at the TU Delft and the Netherlands Cancer Institute from 2014 to 2017, and she held a personal Marie Curie fellowship at the Netherlands Research Centre for Mathematics and Computer Science (CWI) from 2013 to 2014. Joana received a PhD in Computer Science from the Technical University of Lisbon in Jan 2013, and a 5-year Diploma in Computer Science from the University of Beira Interior in 2007. She did her PhD research at INESC-ID between Oct 2007 and Mar 2012, funded by a personal PhD grant from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). Joana was a Visiting Scholar at KU Leuven between 2009 and 2010, a Research Assistant at Imperial College London in 2012, and an invited Assistant Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico in 2013 before moving to the Netherlands.
