A challenge-based approach will bring together resources and knowledge across different fields, technologies and disciplines, including social sciences and the humanities. This will cover activities from research to market with a new focus on innovation-related activities, such as piloting, demonstration, test-beds, and support for public procurement and market uptake.
INESC-ID is organised into four Thematic Lines that were identified as the unifying themes for which INESC-ID can make more relevant contributions to current societal challenges: societal digital transformation, life and health technology, energy transition, and security and privacy. These four Thematic Lines promote synergies among the eleven scientific areas in order to impactfully address today’s challenges.
The Thematic Lines capture the relevant synergies between the Scientific Areas of INESC-ID, its backbone structure representing its scientific competencies
