On-chip testing of SARS-CoV-2 (SARSChip)
Type: National Project Project
Duration: from 2020 Aug 07 to 2021 Aug 01
Financed by: FCT
Prime Contractor: INESC MN (Other) - Lisbon, Portugal
Development of a portable device with disposable chips for early diagnosis of Covid-19 based on molecular and serologic tests in parallel. Magnetic sensors will perform quantitative detection of viral RNA, without the need of amplification due to on-chip magnetic concentration. In addition, blood serum analysis will allow for patient stratification in illness severity and immunization assessment. Major assets include low cost (<15€/test), multiplex (6 probes/test) and fast time to results (<1 h).
