A complete ultra-low power ADPLL to be used on a transceiver for wireless sensor nodes using Bluetooth Low Energy standard should be designed. The DCO analog block, and the RF counter, TDC and control digital blocks also. Analog, digital and mixed-signal post-layout simulations should be performed. PVT variations must be considered. Calibration phase, channels tuning, settling time, phase-noise, direct modulation, spurious, distortion, should be obtained. Complete back-end flow (Place&route, clock tree synthesis, etc) for a digital microcontroller including embedded memories and common peripherals. The microcontroller is intended for radio control and protocol stack implementation. The layout of the controller ready for tape-out should be obtained. The ADPLL should be implemented in CMOS 130nm technology and a layout ready for fabrication is the final objective.
